Hygrophoropsis morganii (Pk.) Bigelow Cap 1-4cm across, irregularly domed-funnel-shaped, with a margin remaining inrolled for a long time then expanding to become somewhat wavy: salmon to flesh-pink or ochre-pink; slightly sticky. then dry and minutely hairy. Gills decurrent, strongly forking; cream to very pale yellow-pink or flesh-pink. Stem 10-35 x 3-6cm, generally tapering to a long, rooting base in age; flesh-pink, slightly paler toward the top; dry, minutely scurfy. Odor fruity. Spores 3.5-5.5 x 2.5-3µ. Deposit whitish. Clamps present. Habitat in mixed or coniferous woods. Rare. Found in the Pacific Northwest. Season September-October. Edibility not known -avoid. |
